Responsibilities:
This position works closely with the Registrar in fulfilling the responsibilities of data integrity and the recording and management of all student records.
This includes, but is not limited to evaluation of transfer credit, graduation assistance, reporting using Banner/ SQL/Argos, troubleshooting and testing Banner and other auxiliary software, academic scheduling, beginning and end of term processing, grading and academic revisions, maintenance of the on-line Schedule of Classes, DegreeWorks, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Banner Web/My Info.
Technical Support:
Develop, compile, verify, and assist with institutional reporting, including maintenance of complex database reports using SQL and Banner; DegreeWorks software maintenance:
review academic catalogs, evaluate campus degree/program requirements, and translate into DegreeWorks using this software's proprietary coding language, Scribe; Develop & manage course and program requirements using DegreeWorks tools and programming code; Provide customer service for both internal & external customers, including technical assistance to departments and division directors regarding academic degree program data for DegreeWorks; Provide oversight of the CRM software; administer testing and technical support of this and other programs as needed; Participate in the planning, development, testing & maintenance and enhancements of Banner:
Oversee records maintenance by validating student data records within Banner, the Data Warehouse, and the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC).
Assist Registrar with Duplicate ID clean-up in Banner.
General Registrar Support:
Coordinate Class Schedules, and drafts and maintains the academic calendar; schedule all undergraduate courses by building all class sections and maintaining all classroom scheduling including appropriate Banner forms; Perform all functions needed to begin and end terms, including:
Planning/Conducting registration, maintaining and updating academic records, interpreting and applying academic policies; Update final grades, compile Dean's List, and Academic Progress reporting; Responsible for the graduation program:
assisting Registrar with processing graduation applications, evaluating credentials to award degrees, generating diplomas, compiling graduation files and documents for the graduation ceremony, and distributing graduation numbers and statistics; and filing graduation & various reports to Office of Commissioner of Higher Education and NSC; Evaluate student transfer credentials and articulate transfer courses.
Back-up for processing student requests for official academic transcripts; During high volume periods and on Special Projects, provide assistance as needed to Student Central staff including data entry, phone/walk-in traffic assistance.
Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Associate's degree or equivalent (two years' successful technical work in multiple software programs including relational databases) Experience reviewing, interpreting, preparing and presenting reports Proficient in use of equipment including:
computers, printers, copier/fax machine, and multi-line phone system with voice mail.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in the use of software including:
Microsoft Office Suite including (MS Access and MS Excel), and internet browsers, MS Outlook e-mail Strong time management and organizational skills are critical Strong communication skills (both written and oral) are necessary in order to effectively communicate through a variety of modes to a variety of clients.
