8K a year 20 hours ago 20 hours ago 20 hours ago FACILITIES MANAGER FT 40/hrs a week Salaried Position Compensation DOE Direct Health Care Plan, Retirement Benefit The Facilities Manager will operate as the representative of the Ice Plex and the Board of Directors, to the Ice Plex user groups and the public.
The Manager will act in a professional, business-like manner and use good judgment when dealing with the public, user groups and staff.
The Manager will maintain the physical premises and atmosphere in such a way that the public will be encouraged to use it on a regular basis.
SUMMARY OF POSITION Oversees and maintains all aspects of the physical facility.
Responsible for maintaining the facility and assisting in operations of the Ice Plex; to provide a safe, clean, and friendly environment for guests and patrons.
Oversee and direct work of others under their supervision and in the absence of Operations Administrator.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
General building maintenance, building cleanliness, ice resurfacing operations, game operations, ice maintenance.
Supervise, train, and provide direction to seasonal facility staff.
Coordinate with Operations Administrator and schedule facility staff.
Maintain a quality sheet of ice.
Oversee all aspects of ice installation and removal.
Prepare ice for all practices, games and other ice events, including removing debris; checking ice depth; scraping, edging and resurfacing ice.
Safe and efficient driving of the Zamboni resurfacing machine.
Maintain facility's cleanliness to optimal levels.
Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of facility, systems and equipment.
Complete seasonal preventative maintenance and repair of facility, systems and equipment, in the off-season.
The ideal candidate shall:
Exhibit superior customer service skills.
Have a willingness and interest in completing related training and obtaining additional certifications.
Be a self-starter with ability to analyze situations and develop solutions to problems with minimal supervision.
Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with a variety of individuals and groups, interested in recreational matters, and representing different interests.
Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years of age High School Diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Good driving record Ability to stand, walk, kneel, sit, crouch, twist, push, pull, bend, stoop, squat and lift.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
Self-motivated Reliable and customer focused Customer service experience Ability to work weekdays, weekends, days and evenings Previous driving and/or arena experience desired but not required Supervisory experience preferred Illicit substances are not tolerated and this position will be subject to random drug testing.
Standard Work Days and Hours The Ice Plex is open 7 days a week during the ice season (generally late August - early May) and hours may vary depending scheduled events.
Flexibility to work varying hours especially as seasons and service needs change.
Evening and weekend shifts will be required, especially during special events and heavy seasonal workloads.
This role will be required to be available on call and work during emergencies.

open skating, hockey leagues, skating lessons and other activities held at the arena.
Monitors activities throughout the facility to ensure safe and smooth operation.
Provides assistance as necessary to participants and spectators at the arena.
Enforce policies and provide direction in case of emergencies.
Monitors and assists as needed with keeping the exterior of building and grounds clean.
Performs such other duties as are consistent with the tasks of the position and as may be assigned by the Operations Administrator.
Opening and closing arena.
Participate in set-up and disassembly of hockey glass, and dasher boards/kick plates, as needed Skate sharpening when needed.
Sharpening of Zamboni blades, including for other rinks.
